Home The Mission of MYND is to bring all demographics of the Isla Vista community together in intimate neighborhood gatherings. Through the process of eating together, engaging in creative activities, sports, and sharing community resource and safety information, the goal is to form a common respect and appreciation for the community and all of its residents.
Meet Your Neighbors Day will be held on October 18 between the hours of 1:00pm and 6:00pm. The community has been divided into 9 different neighborhoods. Each neighborhood will be invited to a specific local park from 1:00pm -4:00pm. Each park will have snacks and beverages, sporting activities or games, creative projects, photo table etc. One activity at each park will be to create a neighborhood flag. At 4:00pm, neighbors from each park will walk with their flag to Anisq'Oyo' Park (950 Embarcadero Del Mar) for a community wide event including live bands, DJ, bounce houses for kids, climbing wall and informational tables for community services and organizations. Local businesses and restaurants will be providing special discounts for that day only.
